GSSA 2023 Capitol Report, Leg Day 28

It is unfortunate but we saw SB 233 also known as the voucher bill pass the Senate 33-23 along party lines. There was not one republican that voted against the bill. They all fell in line with their party’s position.  Here are the voting results:

I wanted you to have the voting results on SB 233 (which was amended during its presentation on the floor of the Senate)  and note that testimony was limited and many of the education organizations were not permitted to speak (chairman indicated time has run short to continue testimony) at the one and only hearing given the voucher bill in Senate Education and Youth Committee. This shows how your Senator voted. Draw your own conclusions.
