GSSA Announces 2023 Superintendent of the Year for the state of Georgia and now will represent Georgia at the national level competition as a national finalist.  Trent North superintendent of the Douglas County Schools has been selected as the 2023 state of Georgia Superintendent of the Year.  The announcement was made at the GSBA/GSSA conference on December 1, 2022, at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel during the annual conference.  Mr. North was selected from a pool of 27 nominated superintendents which was narrowed to 4 state finalists of Dr. Brian Hightower superintendent of Cherokee County, Ms. Beverley Levine superintendent of Oglethorpe County, Dr. Fred Williams superintendent of Dublin City Schools, and the winner Mr. Trent North.  It is a great honor to be nominated by your board of education and then selected by a committee of your peers. Mr. North will now compete on the national level and his accomplishments will be highlighted as he goes through that process.  Congratulations to the Douglas County Schools, the local board of education and of course, Mr. North.
