The Troup County School System, La Grange, Georgia, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified and fully certified Superintendent.  The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position on or before July 1, 2024.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 12,200

Location: 70 miles southwest of Atlanta

The Qualifications

The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board developed the following desired characteristics.

  • A leader who is an excellent communicator and uses those skills to communicate with diverse groups within the district and the community;
  • A leader who will embrace the theme of the Troup County Schools – “A place for every kid,” and can validate, through his/her previous work in education, that belief;
  • A leader who can validate, through previous proven data points of student success, that he/she can lead Troup County to improved student outcomes;
  • A leader who chooses to reside in and embrace a leadership role in the community;
  • A leader who will embrace, lead any needed revisions of, and implement the current Troup County School District’s strategic plan.

  • Board of Education selects finalists to interview: April 16, 2024
  • Interviews with the Board of Education: TBD
